Best fishes restaurant’thank you soooo much everything.really really delicious
My favourite restaurant. I took my girlfriend here for a relaxing evening in november, and even though I dont really like to dine out, this is a must see for people who appreciate a good fish. The restaurant itself is quite small, little more than a niche but once you enter, you will learn to appreciate. The small size adds to the overall charm of the place, making for a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. the decoration is well thought out and placed, the furniture is comfortable and suits the general aesthetic. The personell here is very friendly and competent, which of course is their job, but even so i still like to note my gratitude on this topic because as I said, I dont dine out often, so it helps if the people are forgiving with my occasional cluelessness. also how did that waitress even memorize all the extra things that werent written on the menu? Very impressive. Speaking of - opening the menu had me baffled just as much because not only did it have everything that was written in german translated to englisch on the next page, but it was also gorgeously hand written, which is that little touch of extra effort that I really admire. The cooking itself happens in the same room just behind the counter, by what I assume must be an incredibly seasoned chef because that was, without exaggeration, the best salmon i ever ate, and i would like to note that i cook rather well myself. but neither the quality of the fish nor the sauce i make could ever hold a candle to what i got served there. I remember the crispy skin, the soft meat of the fish that was cooked just on point, dipped in the herb sauce.. it was really an explosion of tastes and salmon itself really is nothing special. My girlfriend ordered swordfish, which i tasted also. It was just as delishious. When we left we got offered some haribo as a little parting gift which was very surprising and sweet. I just recently remembered that I forgot to leave a tip, so the least I can do is leave an honest review. I will definitely be going here again and when the time comes, i will not forget to leave that tip!
We found this quaint place and we were able to sit at the bar and see the chefs and staff in action, cooking and plating all the dishes. The food was delicious, staff was friendly and the atmosphere felt like dining in a friend’s home. Worth a try if you’re trying to avoid larger touristy restaurants in Passau. Also, they had a good and affordable wine and beer list. For dessert, the ice cream with caramelized pumpkin seeds is “must try.”
